Crowdfunding started... new tracks and animations..!!

This past week Arianna and I met up with our photographer and took some pictures, also got to shoot some video for our kickstarter/gofundme. Here's a sneak peek at one of the images:

Also I've recorded another track to possibly be used/manipulated in the show. I'll most likely be DJ'ing the first half by showing videos and songs that I've made. Check it out!

Piezo Snare Test!!

It works!! We were having some trouble with the sensor falling out, but I think that's not a huge issue. Just a matter of installing it in a more secure way.

This is most of the video of what we could capture before my computer ran out of batteries.

Weekly Progress/Calendar

Missed out on sharing some live performance this past weekend... I ended up spending some time with family instead. Never a bad thing! Part of me was a bit unsettled so I made this track at home instead of whatever I would have made live to share...

Regardless I've been jamming alot with housemates and been working on alot of new sounds. Here's a scan of my calendar for the next month:

Knock Circuit working!

Here's a video of the knock circuit I'll be attaching to a drumset in order to effect some visuals. Right now I am working on an idle animation of this guy:

every time there's a knock the season will change behind him!

Shader examples in processing I'd like to modify via the minim input library. Perhaps theres a way to have the code call a shader that is being manipulated in real time? I'm not sure...

Getting back to Philly has been quite the trip. But I'm pumped to crack down and get things rolling. Just met with Arianna on Thursday, and looking forward to getting some rehearsals in soon. I need to choose a mentor by next week, so here's who I'm thinking about....

• Tim Motzer
• Liat Segal (or her friend who has done work with processing/music visualizations)
• Clayton Rothwell (has worked with immersive 3d audio)

All are fantastic opportunities and people as resources already. I'm hoping to hear back from Tim because I'd love to have him help out with a rehearsal or two.

LOGISTICS TIME

I've some more notes on what I've been thinking about for the structure of the event/performance as well:

• 2 rehearsals a month from now until the event
• Event with Arianna will be on April 2nd and 4th
• Event with class will be on April 7th

• Interactive Sculpture with projections upon it-
• video is affected by user touch. Also sound.
• The videos being projected are home videos belonging to me/arianna
• A film burn/overlay will turn touched parts to white
• about 10 songs (I've written) prepared for live dj'ing
• some of these songs I will play with friends.
• some of these songs I will just press play on my computer.
• some of these songs I will just play an instrument (probably drums) along with.
• videos to be played intermittently after certain songs
• a projection spot with videos looping and headphones for people to come up and listen to/watch privately.
